Wine reviews are prepared in daily tastings, generally non-blind, where wines normally decanted and tasted over a period of 30 to 60 minutes, both before and with a meal. Wines are scored only on their current drinkability not taking into account their future potential.

Hogi runs Abacus Capital, an investment, asset management and advisory group based in Singapore (www.abacuscapital.com). He established a fine wine collection activity, Vitis, to collect Bordeaux Grand Crus wines through en primeur purchases. In 2009 Hogi received the Diplôme Universitaire d'Aptitude à la Dégustation des vins (DUAD) from the Faculty of Oenology, University of Bordeaux.
