Chateau Lafon-Rochet 1996

Dense and heavy, Chateau Lafon-Rochet 1996 (Saint-Estephe, Bordeaux) is dark ruby, exhibiting heavy aromas of oak and smoke, followed by dense concentration but dormant fruit, heavy tanins and a tanic finish. May require 5+ years to soften, retaste in 5 years. Score 14/20. Hogi Hyun 5 Mar 2005.
