Brilliant ruby in color, the 1994 Chateau Montrose has a tight nose hinting of cedar, flint and cassis, good balance, firm tanins and an elegant finish. Drink now + 5 years. Score 16/20. Hogi Hyun, 12 November 2004.
Wine reviews are prepared in daily tastings, generally non-blind, where wines normally decanted and tasted over a period of 30 to 60 minutes, both before and with a meal. Wines are scored only on their current drinkability not taking into account their future potential.
